Why it's still a life-changing career move to become a Freelance Contractor... Even with the bad economy at the moment, IR35, Brexit and everything else the world has thrown at contractors, I still believe it's a life changing decision to go contracting It was for me anyway... Doing work that I enjoy, the variety Being paid handsomely for my skills & experience Being the master of my own destiny and being more in control But for me it's even more than that... Having a better sense of overall self-worth, the confidence it brings, it empowers me knowing I am constantly taking action and moving forwards And I am living a better life for sure, and it spills over into other areas too... It allows me to have more time with my family, more time off, more holidays Able to go to my kids sports days, school plays, parents evenings Just being there More time for friends too, and being happier when I'm in their company Because I am happier in general More money and time to travel, the freedom and power to take time off when you want to More opportunities to to create that bucket list & action it, getting more from life, the excitement I crave, the adventure I want, living life to the max I feel better, empowered, powerful, in charge My energy levels are higher, I feel like I am living a better life with less stress, less worry, less boredom I would often feel disempowered, where this would often bubble over to my family, creating friction and frustration, but it was all down to me feeling like I was losing my own self-respect, losing theirs, losing energy as each year passed And that was not attractive I'm sure :-) As a contractor it's about creating a life you love I believe, creating wealth for you, your family, and their future families, creating a legacy Leading your family, inspiring others to do the same... A network of people you might inspire to do the same... And being a part of our Facebook & LinkedIn groups, helping others through our actions, our journey, knowing that you can do this, sharing experiences to help others who haven't made the leap themselves yet That's what inspired me to create these groups And I love it I hope you can see the benefit of becoming a contractor in the future if you're not one already? And if you're not contracting for any particular reason would you do me a favour and let me know what it is? I'd love to know Or if you'd like help or support in your journey just comment below I don't know what I can do to help, but I will try my best, the offer is there Even if you just want a chat, I'm here, I'm in your corner All the best, have a great weekend, and I look forward to helping you if I can David Gerrish Contractor since 1996 Founder - IT Contracting Academy
